85. Vitiligo, Leukoderma and the MIR-Method
The MIR-Method sometimes surprises people in ways they were totally not expecting. One such surprise is that the MIR-Method can help cause vitiligo to disappear. That is a skin condition in which the pigment cells in the skin and/or hair totally disappear. The skin becomes milk-white in those areas. If a section of the white vitiligo skin is studied under a microscope, all the pigment cells are gone.At least 0.5% of the world’s population suffers from vitiligo. In the Netherlands, an estimated 240,000 people have vitiligo.
How does vitiligo develop?
What causes vitiligo has not yet been scientifically established. It’s thought to be an autoimmune disease in which the body itself destroys the pigment cells. Others suspect that it is caused by a shortage of nutrients such as vitamins. Vitiligo can develop at any age and is especially a psycho-social problem because other people react as if it were dirty or contagious out of ignorance. People with vitiligo can feel left out or rejected because of it.
Can the MIR-Method do something about vitiligo?
A Dutch lady called Ans did the MIR-Method during a long period of time and, to her surprise, it had an effect on her vitiligo! Read her message below:
“I am amazed and surprised!! My primary care physician diagnosed vitiligo and immediately gave me the message that it was incurable. (…) A year of treatment followed with a spray on all the white spots on my body, and every other day under the lamp (without UV rays). (…) After that year, the vitiligo proved to have spread all over my body instead of healing. As a last resort I was offered a cream that was possibly carcinogenic and which I would have to use very carefully. That was it!! What was I doing? I decided to live my life with vitiligo and without these dangerous remedies. This time I decided to do the MIR-Method seriously. I began on July 1, 2013, every morning after my shower and in the evening after brushing my teeth. I wrote the 9 steps down on cards and took them with me to work so I could do the method there if I didn’t have time for it at home in the morning. Three months after starting the MIR-Method, areas with new pigment were added almost daily!! I take pictures from time to time of my hands and arms to convince myself that it is really true that my pigment is returning. Thank you, Mireille, that you have shared your knowledge with all of us!! Kind regards from Ans.” |

How come vitiligo clears up with the MIR-Method?
The MIR-Method works on a deep level on the causes of all kinds of complaints and appears to work with vitiligo as well.
1. If the vitiligo has a purely emotional origin, a lot is already gained with steps 3, 4, 7 and 8, in which you work hard on letting go of old emotions.
2. If the vitiligo has its origins in physical deficiencies, step 5: ‘Supplement all shortages’ plays the leading role. There is already scientific research showing that positive results were achieved when patients were given extra vitamins and ultraviolet light. (“Treatment of vitiligo with Broadband Ultraviolet B and Vitamins,” by Philip Don MD, Aurel Iuga MD, Anne Dacko MD en Kathleen Hardick BA, and “Improvement of Vitiligo After Oral Treatment with Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid and the Importance of Sun Exposure,” by Juhlin L, Olsson MJ, 1997, Acta Derm Venereol, jrg.77 (nr.6): pp. 460-462.)
The role of step 5: Supplement all shortages
With the MIR-Method, you do the work yourself by supplementing nutritional deficiencies. You encourage your body to supplement what is deficient. It can; therefore, mean that you suddenly feel like eating a lot of something, like spinach, broccoli or kale for vitamin B11 (folic acid) or meat (liver, pâté) or eggs for vitamin B12. However it may be, science hasn’t figured it out yet and is looking further for possible connections between vitamin deficiencies and vitiligo. If you do the MIR-Method, you encourage your subconscious to work on this and it will indicate which food you need.
And what if vitiligo is an autoimmune disease?
In my medical textbook, it says that vitiligo can be the result of an autoimmune disease. However, scientists are not yet in agreement about this. This is good news for people doing the MIR-Method because all 9 MIR-Method steps work on strengthening the immune system. That’s why it can have an effect on so many levels. This would be very good news for people with an autoimmune disease. It’s a question of time because the MIR-Method takes time, especially with advanced diseases, such as vitiligo. So be patient!

I have been doing the MIR-Method only once just before sleep but I will increase to 2X’s in the hope of increasing my pigmented cells. Many years ago I first noticed the white spots during an extremely stressful time. Another recent months-long time of extreme stress has resulted in many new large patches. I will also try stepping up my B-vitamins which can become depleted when under stress. Thank you for connecting the dots (pun intended) of Vitiligo–it can be a heartbreaking embarrassment if you let it get you down!
