53. Thyroid Disorder, how can the MIR-Method help?
The thyroid gland is one of the wonders of your body. It can be found in your neck, behind your larynx, and is shaped like a butterfly. If the thyroid is normal, you usually can’t feel it. With some thyroid disorders, it becomes enlarged and can be felt, but it is also visible in the neck as a “goiter” or “crop”. This is not usually a problem, although it can look weird to other people.
The MIR-Method supports your thyroid gland
Much to my surprise, I got the first report in 2011 of a woman who was able to stop taking her thyroid medication after 4 months of doing the MIR-Method. I don’t know exactly what kind of thyroid problem it was, but I did think it was remarkable! In the meantime, I’ve had more reports about the blood levels of people with thyroid disorder changing and that, in cooperation with doctors, medication could be lowered! It is a very exciting development and I hope that we, thanks to doctors’ research, can ascribe even more positive results to the MIR-Method. When you consider that 1 in 1000 people have thyroid problems! And more women than men.
Importance of your thyroid gland
Your thyroid is very important. The thyroid gland hormones keep the “pilot light” burning in all the cells of your body. This enables your cells to turn food into energy, necessary for the warmth of your body and for your health in general.
Symptoms of thyroid disorder
If your thyroid doesn’t function properly any more, a number of different symptoms can occur. They are often vague things like being irritated, tired, feeling too cold or too warm or losing or gaining weight. But also having trouble concentrating, nervousness or even a low sex-drive can be caused by an inadequately working thyroid gland. Because the symptoms are so diverse, it usually takes years before the discovery is made that they are caused by the thyroid gland. Blood tests and taking your morning temperature are necessary.
MIR-Method and the thyroid gland
What does the MIR-Method do which can cause a thyroid disorder to lessen or even disappear? In the method are 9 steps. The steps that are the most important for this problem are steps 5, 6 and 7. I will explain these but always continue to do all 9 steps!
Step 5. Supplement all shortages. When you say this step to your subconscious, your cells take more nutrients out of the food you eat. Regarding the thyroid gland it is all about iodine. This is a trace element, a substance that you need but a small amount of, but which is very important for the thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid gland, results from a shortage of iodine. If you start doing the MIR-Method, your body will want to replenish the shortage of iodine. That happens because you feel like eating foods which contain iodine, such as salt-water fish (mackerel, herring, etc.) or seafood (shrimp, mussels, etc.) and kelp, but eggs also contain iodine. The thyroid stores the iodine so usually you only have this craving for a few days and then it has enough.
Step 6. Balance hormone system. This step causes your subconscious to regulate and harmonize your hormone system. The pituitary gland, which can be found in your head, is, for example, very important for your thyroid. The hormones that the pituitary gland makes determine whether the thyroid gland produces more or less hormones. By activating the entire hormone system, the function of the thyroid gland will also improve. In addition, the function of the thymus gland (situated behind your breast bone) needs to improve, because with some diseases of the thyroid gland, Hashimoto or Graves for example, the thymus thinks it has to attack the tissue of the thyroid (autoimmune disease). Step 6 gives your subconscious the command to stop the “self-destruction” of your immune system. You can imagine that this is a long process and not completed overnight, but in the end really worthwhile!
Step 7. Fulfill basic needs. This is a special step with thyroid disorders. Because, what is now the real cause of these illnesses? Why does the body attack its own thyroid gland? It happens because someone has trouble with life. Many people have had bad experiences in their youth, traumas, accidents, loss of loved ones and they develop a feeling of insecurity because of it. It’s not safe here on earth. I’d rather not be here. My soul would rather not be here. These people may like to lose themselves in books, fantasy worlds or even spirituality. Standing with two feet on the ground and embracing life to the fullest as it is, is their challenge. However, you can only do this, if you feel safe and protected from within. For this you need step 7: Fulfill basic needs, to replenish the basic needs of security and protection. Being on earth will slowly but surely become more fun! Welcome!!

Good advice on thyroid
My wife, back in the 1970s, was scheduled to have her thyroid removed and would have spent the rest of her life taking thyroxine hormone
I got her to postpone the operation and
– eat seaweed for iodine
– drink no alcohol
– exclude cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage from her diet
Within 2 weeks the goitre had disappeared and she cancelled the operation
Hi my name is Fiona 64 years old I love your concept . it is brilliant , I have been going to kinesiology for about 15 years and have worked on a lot of my issues it is amazing and never ceases to amaze me , I started out with 5 and 7 of the MIR-Method though stopped because I became very unwell , I feel this is because my body was in a really difficult place , I have had 3 very close family deaths in the last year and the grieving process was quite hard on me , also because I have a very sensitive body and it reacts to everything either good or bad , my immune system seems to be an issue causing all sorts of problems , arthritis , IBS , hashimotes ( thyroid ) and now skin seems to be sensitive to everything , I do understand why this has happened and would so love to be better and stronger and I do feel with your method I could achieve this , the need to be healthy is very strong so much so that I have changed my food and drink completely over the years , I now only drink water and some fruit smoothies ,, I am dairy ,gluten ,egg , pork , red meat , chocolate and alcohol. Free , my issue is I tent to be very anxious , seems the healthier my lifestyle the more sensitive I become . do you think it would be ok for me to start again with 5 and 7 ,,, thank you for this wonderful concept you are doing an amazing thing and I totally appriciate all you have done ,,, blessings Fiona X X
Dear Fiona,
Thank you for your very kind words and acknowledgement.
No, you don’t have to restart with steps 5 and 7. Please start with all 9 steps. You will do fine. And could you maybe let go of the fruit smoothies and instead eat 1 apple at a time? Your body will probably be too sensitive for all the fructose, fruit sugars. Eating 1 apple fulfills just as good, but also has the cellulose and fibres that your body needs to healthily digest the fructose.
Good luck!

Hi Mrs. Mettes,
I have Hashimotes and low thyroid. I recently started to do the MIR Method with my husband. He has an autoimmune issue with peripheral neuropathy and very painful pain in his feet. I also am cleared for a year and half with ovarian cancer coming from endometriosis. I broke out with hives recently and feel my natural thyroid may not working. So far we are on the #5 and # 7 of MIR Method. We both have traumatic pasts and want to be free from many triggers we have. I am very excited to have found your method. I hope to be sending a good report when it happens.
Respectfully,
Dear June,
Hope the MIR-Method will be a great companion for your health! Kind regards, also to your husband. May you both regain your health!

Thank You ,Mirelle! I felt like this newsletter article is personally for me.Why? Becouse I started with MIR Method last year in October. This year in january I was travelling to Estonia,my homeland.I was prepared to incrise my L-Thyroksin mg (Thyroid hormone).from 75 back to 100.It happend to my one year ago ,when I was in cold and snow in Austria. In cold climate Igot tired and poweless.
This year I broke my arm and had to stay in the cold climate for 1,5 month. But I DID NOT FEEL the NEEDS TO START with 100 mg of L-Thyroksin!!!
Something already have changed! OK, I started in october, also a rawfood lifestile.I think-combination of these two things have been a success! Thanks a lot for the newsletter. It reminds me-I have to pick up MIR Method again.I did not do it with broken arm in kips. Now I will continue what so ever! And Im greatful! Warme Grutjes Eve
Dear Eve,
I am very glad you feel better and don’t have to take so many L-Thryroxin. I hope you continue to feel better and that the MIR-Method can help you with that!
Good luck!

All blood tests for my thyroid have been normal apparently and have had many, was diagnosed with ME/CFS instead but never been convinced. I have an enlarged thyroid on my neck, had severe weight loss 10yrs ago and never been able to put on again. Always tired, muscle weakness, foggy head, baggy eye lids, no energy etc. I would say definitely Auto-immune disorder but have been tested for all the others which are all normal, negative.
Yes I have had a thyroidectomy and take medication.
So I am now doing the MIR-Method for 3 weeks and
and do I have to 5 &7 and 9 separately for it to work?
Dear Renee,
Thank you for giving the MIR-Method a try! If you feel quite good, you can start by doing all 9 steps. If you want to start carefully, because you feel tired or suffer anxieties, you first start with step 5 and 7 for two weeks. Only those two, 5 and 7, not including number 9!
Please subscribe to the free 6 weeks guidance mails. They will explain all details about how the MIR-Method can work out.
Good luck and let me hear how you are doing!
