182. Your Muscles’ Three Wishes
Our body has more than 600 muscles. That many?! 600? Where are they all? Well, everywhere! On your arms and legs, and your heart is a muscle as well as your intestines. You also have small muscles, such as your eye muscles. The smaller the muscles, the more easily tired they become. When your eyes are tired, the muscles have become overworked and it is time for a break! You usually don’t notice that you have muscles until they start bothering you. And to help your muscles, I give you the three hearts’ desires of your muscles.
Do your muscles a favor!
- Move.Your muscles like to remain supple. They want to be used because that’s why you have them. There is nothing sadder than muscles that almost never get used. They weaken and begin to function poorly. Unfortunately we live in an age of computers so that many people in the Western World don’t exercise enough. Put things you only occasionally need just out of reach. Or do your work standing up.
- Outside.Your muscles want nutrients and oxygen. If they get enough nutrients, they can function properly. They especially need electrolytes. These are substances that ensure that muscles contract properly. Electrolytes are, for example, calcium, magnesium, phosphates, sodium, potassium and chloride. You only need trace amounts and if you eat healthfully, you get enough. Only… we don’t eat the right kind of food! Because of stress (see point 3) and a lack of sunlight. Sunlight produces vitamin D, so your intestines can use the calcium in your food. And your muscles love calcium! So… go outside! Get your fresh oxygen. Double win! And exercise. Triple win!
- Relaxation.Your muscles like to relax. People who are under a lot of stress unconsciously tense their muscles… or their heart rate increases because the heart muscle is tensed more. Or you get a cramp in the calf. Owwww! And without noticing it, you can develop all kinds of vague problems such as headache, fatigue, shoulder problems, and lower back pain. The stress can be caused by your constantly being in a “numbed reaction”. Out of fear of more misery you keep still and tense all of your muscles. Read more about this in article 126, “What If You Freeze Up Too Quickly?”
Stretching, it works wonders!
You pull yourself out of the numbness by stretching your muscles. They can renew themselves. They can absorb new nutrients because more blood is circulating through them. They can absorb more oxygen from the blood. And… they can relax, causing you to relax and get moving again!
By sitting on the edge of your bed each evening and stretching, you remove the stress from your muscles. Sleep does the rest. Put your arms up high and bend calmly to the left, to the right and backwards. Then stretch your ribcage, giving your lungs more oxygen! And then in the morning as well, make your body flexible and give yourself a head start! Then stand for a moment and bend over… bingo! A fantastic way to start the day!
Exercise and your mission
How you’d like to move and how often depends on your mission. People who are “Body enjoyers” love sports, exercise, making love, dancing and keep their muscles flexible doing so. If you’re not a body enjoyer, exercise may form a challenge for you. Realize that when doing your favorite activity you move a lot without realizing it. Are you a “Nature worker”? You are usually not sitting still when you are outside! Are you a “Creative person”? Realize how often you get up and sit down again during your creative process. If you like cooking, realize how long you stand and walk back and forth. If you are a “Heart lightener”, notice how much you move while making others happy.
The MIR-Method and your muscles
When you do the MIR-Method, you become clearer about what your life path is with step 9: Clarify mission. And when people do what they like doing most, they move more.
With step 1: Optimize acidity you task your body to bring the acidity in your whole body into balance, also in your muscles. Your body can excrete a surplus of acids via your kidneys. To do that, the body needs to have the right hormones (ADH, Anti-Diuretic Hormone). And to do that, your body needs the right nutrients. By doing step 5: Supplement all shortages, you can begin to crave other food and thirst more for water.
Even though I only mention a few of the steps, always do all 9 because they cooperate together. If you get rid of old emotions with some of the other steps, your whole body will function better again!
And how about you? Have you noticed that your muscles are more flexible since doing the MIR-Method? That you move more? That you’ve got less muscle aches? I’d love to hear about it! Please write about it below. Thank you!
My wish for you is that you may go flexibly through life!

I have practiced tai chi and yoga. Recently I discovered Intensati and love the short explosive movements with the positive confirmations. My age on paper is absolutely not the way I feel. Thanks for the guidance. DIANA
