105. The MIR-Method during Massage
The MIR-Method is a do-it-yourself method. You can do it all on your own. You stroke your hands while you give your subconscious commands via words. You don’t need anyone to do this for you. You do it all by yourself. However, the fun thing is that you don’t have to. There’s another possibility; you let someone else do the MIR-Method to you. The finest way is during a massage. You are being delightfully massaged and sometime during that massage you receive the MIR-Method. You don’t have to do anything at all except lie down and relax. Wonderful!
Profound effect
Getting a massage is wonderful and healing! It causes you to feel the connection to someone else. Your basic need for Touch receives extra fulfillment. The massage therapist touches you in a respectful fashion that allows you to let go of many old emotions. By relaxing so deeply, there is more openness to your subconscious. Your inner “walls” are lowered and you are more receptive. Count on the MIR-Method then working well!
Many people feel tired after a massage because they were working through all kinds of emotional layers. That’s fine! Surrender yourself to the tiredness. The following days many people find that they feel much better and have new energy. Massage? I say, always do it! If you can every month!
All kinds of massages
Massages vary greatly. One person swears by a strong hard sport massage while the other prefers to be lovingly stroked. I believe there are more than 20 types of massages. Shiatsu, Metamorphosis, Atlas massages, Mindfulness Massage and Haptonomic or Ayurvedic massage, all the way to sport massage. I know there are quite a number that I haven’t mentioned. That doesn’t matter. People know how to find the massage that best suits them. It remains a question of trying them out to find out which type of massage suits you best. Do you like the massage therapist? Can you really surrender yourself to his/her hands? And… if you are already at a massage therapist, ask him/her if he/she would like to do the MIR-Method with you!
How do you do the MIR-Method during a massage?
The important thing is that the person who is being massaged knows beforehand that the MIR-Method is being done! You’ll need to prepare your client and explain what it is. Maybe you should do it during the next appointment and let the client look at the website at home first, to see what the MIR-Method entails.
If your client agrees to it, you do the usual massage. Halfway through the massage or whenever you feel it is a good moment, you, as masseuse, say the 9 steps aloud. You do this calmly and, at the same time, follow your hands. You will intuitively know which form of massage and on which body part is necessary at that moment.
Can you also do this if you are not a masseuse?
Yes! If you would like to give someone a massage, you can do the same thing. Agree beforehand that you will be doing the MIR-Method. During the massage you say each step 3 times. Take the time for it and feel during the speaking of the words where your hands would like to go. Always continue to follow your hands even if the movements become very small. If you give the massage with the intention that the other experiences nothing but good then it will work out well!
And how about you? Would you like to experience the MIR-Method massage? Or have you already tried it? Are you a massage therapist and would you like to try it out? I’d love to hear about it from you! Please write about it below!
Personal questions should always be asked of a MIR-Method coach!
My wish for you is that the massage is good for you and gives your self-healing a boost!

What about me getting the massage and doing the MIR to myself …I have massage every week
Dear Dr Bina,
When you are lying on the massage table it is very uncomfortable to do the 9 steps while stroking your hands. Massage is all about surrendering and relaxing. It would really be more beneficial to let the masseur do the 9 steps. If the masseur is not willing, you can figure a way out to do it yourself, BUT you DO need to tell that to your masseur, because his/her hands may start to change their movements!
Good luck! And thank you for embracing the MIR-Method!

I spontaneously found myself saying the 9 steps (in my head) during my last massage, it really enhanced the effect of the massage. I’m only on day 14, will try it again when I go for another massage next week. I’m a NO HANDS Massage Therapist myself and have already considered doing this with my own clients. Oh bliss, so much to discover!
Cinthia
Dear Cinthia,
How wonderful that you can actually feel it yourself! GREAT! I am happy with you about your discovery and for your clients!
