94. Are You a Heart Enlightener?
Making jokes and witty remarks, pranks and gags. They’re an art and a gift. People who understand the art of creating humor, are Heart Enlighteners. They make others laugh and crack up. People become happy, uplifted. Their hearts become enlightened. If they roar with laughter, even better! It’ll save a half-year of therapy!
How much do you laugh each day?
People who make other people laugh are worth their weight in gold. Laughing is incredibly good for your health. According to Chinese medicine, it gives your liver meridian a boost. In the film, “The Secret”, there is a report about a woman who only watched funny movies after hearing that she had cancer. According to the story, she was even cured of it! Laughter brings you into contact with the child within yourself and into contact with your own joy of life. Think about it. How often do you still laugh each day? According to the German psychologist Michael Titze, children laugh about 300 times a day, while adults only laugh about 15 times a day.
Laughter is therapy. Simply laughing, and infecting each other with laughter. Laughter gives you an enormous release. You let go of everything and your entire energy system comes alive. You can bet on this being good for your health!
What effect does laughter have on a group?
Moreover, laughter enables your brain to learn better. When I teach a course, I try to be as cheerful as possible and get people laughing. That often happens subconsciously because my jokes usually aren’t that great. Or even better, one of the participants makes a joke. Such peals of laughter are priceless and immediately bind everyone together. You can just imagine what cabaret artists accomplish in people!
How to become more attractive?
Laughter is attractive. People who laugh are found to be better looking and also attract people. I went out once with a single young man who wanted to meet a girl. To my surprise, he looked at a number of girls but with the saddest or most somber glance possible. I thought to myself, “That’s not the way to attract girls”. When you have a happy face and laugh, you become a magnet. You will automatically attract people.
Why is the Dalai Lama always smiling? Is he so happy? Or is it because he wants to lift up the hearts of other people? Everyone’s taste in humor is different. That doesn’t matter. The art is to figure out who you can make you laugh and to realize that they help to enlighten your heart.
Is enlightening Hearts your mission?
It’s not a paying job, but Heart Enlighteners are an essential part of mankind. Lifting people up out of their difficult existence. Forgetting their worries for just a moment. Getting rid of their misery with a shaking belly. If you are a Heart Enlightener, you just can’t help yourself. You just have to tell a joke, play a joke or poke at someone. For you, it’s just like breathing and happens all by itself. Still, your mission is unbelievably important. Through your words, you suddenly light up the hearts of a whole group of people. You help people rediscover their energy. People can persevere because of you.
What does the MIR-Method do for Heart Enlighteners?
If it’s your mission to be a Heart Enlightener, the MIR-Method can help you to become aware of this. Initially it helps you to rediscover your own sense of humor, if you have lost it. I wrote about this in the article, Be Careful: Your Sense of Humor is Returning!
Moreover, you begin to see that when you free up your own playfulness and live within your own joviality, you will attract people. People will like to be around you. They feel good when they are with you and you can see them brightening. People are glad when you’re there. People miss you when you’re not. Go and see how much you contribute when you make people laugh and how valuable you are to others!
