121. The 4 ways your body restores your acidity
The first step of the MIR-Method is, “Optimize acidity”. This is not a clear step for many people. What do I mean by that? It involves your body’s acidity. Or more easily said, how “acidic” your body is. Generally speaking, it is better when your body is not too acidic, but preferably “basic”, the opposite of acidic. Think of battery acid as opposed to cleaning soda.
What is the pH value?
Acids and bases are indicated by the pH value, on a scale from 0-14. Battery acid is very acidic and has a pH value of 1. Cleaning soda is very basic and has a pH value of 11. The lower the number, the more acidic the substance is. Everything with a value lower than 7 is called acidic. A pH value of 7 is called “pH neutral”. Tap water is pH neutral, for example.
Your body has all kinds of acidic values
The special thing is that your body is basic as well as acidic. In some places, it has to be acidic, like stomach acid, for example. Because it is acidic, it can digest your food very well. And your skin needs to be slightly acidic to provide a good balance with the bacteria on your skin. Good bacteria can stay, the bad bacteria, such as in road grime, is dealt with by the skin’s acidity.
And on the other hand, your intestines, brains and blood need to be more basic.
So you see that acidity is quite complicated! The good news is that your body can monitor this balance all by itself AND restore it!
How does your body restore its acidity?
Most people’s blood pH values are a bit acidic, and that is not good for you. Your body has 4 ways of balancing your body’s acidity:
1. Via exhaling, so keep singing! And exhale deeply when you are outside.
2. Via transpiration, so keep moving! Or go enjoy the sauna.
3. Via urine, so keep peeing! And drink lots of water or herbal tea, preferably with lemon juice in it.
4. Via bowel movements, use the toilet and enjoy eating a lot of vegetables! Spinach, broccoli, tomatoes etc. The Internet has a lot of nutritional advice. Look for lists of vegetables that will reduce the body’s acidity!
Lemon juice
Even though it is very sour, lemon juice appears to have a strong anti-acidic effect! That is great news! It means that you are doing your body a big favor when you drink lemon juice or put it in your food a few times each week. Handy, such a cheerful fruit with such a great effect! Have you also noticed that your skin becomes soft from lemon juice? Just rub a lemon onto your skin and feel how soft it becomes!
By the way, use soap-free soaps! Soap with a neutral pH value. Otherwise it reduces the acidity of your skin and can cause skin problems because the “bad” bacteria aren’t being taken care of by your skin. You can buy soap-free soap everywhere.
Too acidic means pain, fluid retention and osteoporosis
If your blood is too acidic, your body can no longer deal with the acid in your body and thinks up another way. It collects the acids into clumps of acid crystals. And…these acidic crystals remain in your joints, causing a lot of people’s joint pain. A good example of this is gout. It causes an inflammatory reaction (a good reaction from the immune system!), which makes your skin red, warm and painful.
In addition, having too much acidity in your blood and the fluids around your cells cause you to retain fluid. And because your body is trying to remove acidity, it extracts extra calcium from your bones, resulting in osteoporosis. Not handy and not good!
Drink your acidity away!
What a lot of people don’t know is that almost all drinks are acidic. Even the sweet drinks! And this is very deceptive. You think you’re drinking something nice but meanwhile, you’re making your body more acidic and causing health problems for your body. To make this clearer, below is a list of drinks with their pH values. The lower the number, the more it acidifies your body.
Coke 2.7
Diet coke 2.9
7UP 3.2
Red wine 3.5
Beer 4.0
Apple juice 4.0
Orange juice 4.2
Coffee 4.5 (I’m glad to see how many people order a glass of water with their coffee!)
Milk 6.8
Tap water 7.2
Mineral water 7.2, or higher.
Read the pH value on the label, because there are mineral waters whose acidity has a pH value of about 6! And…always drink “flat” water, without the bubbles! The bubbles are acidic; the carbonation comes from the carbonic acid, which is added to create the sparkles in your glass.
The MIR-Method and your acidity
We regularly receive reports from people that their pain problems have disappeared. That is really special! It is mostly because of step 1: ‘Optimize acidity’. This MIR-Method step causes the body to become actively involved in the disposal of acids, which enables waste products to leave your body. If your body is too acidic these waste products remain inside your body.
Observe! What your body may do through step 1 is perspiring more often, going to the toilet more often and breathing more deeply. You notice this by yawning or sighing, for example, while doing the MIR-Method. These are very good signals so rejoice when they occur!
Step 2: ‘Detox all toxicity’ helps to break the acid crystals down and dispose of them more quickly. It’s possible that this is one of the reasons people have less pain when they do the MIR-Method. Most people can maintain doing the MIR-Method for 4 months in this case! So give your body time to dispose of all that extra acidity!
What might be surprising is that step 3: ‘Detach father’. This has a direct influence on your acidity. I discovered this when I maintained charts with my clients’ progress. It turned out that when they had problems with their fathers or other men, their acidity was disrupted. The only explanation I have for this is that problems with your father or other men possibly give you an unconscious but continuous feeling of insecurity and stress. And stress has an acidic effect.
In addition, the other MIR-Method steps cooperate to regulate the acidity more quickly. Through step 5: ‘Supplement all shortages’, your body supplements the nutritional substances it is missing. That happens when your body is suddenly hungry for other food. Maybe you begin to like eating vegetables or yoghurt and to dislike coffee or alcohol. Read about this in article 27: “Production Resumes”.
Note! Even though I’ve only described a few steps above, always do all 9 steps!
And how about you? Have you noticed that you drink water more readily and eat healthier? Is pain gone because of doing the MIR-Method? I’d love to hear about it! Please write about it below. Thank you!
You should always ask a MIR-Method coach about personal questions!
My wish for you is that your body finds the right balance between acid-bases and your health improves by leaps and bounds!
