135. The Primal Power of Acceptance: Calm!
Thoughts have strength. What you think influences your reality. The words you choose are a reflection of your inner life. Do you speak negatively about what you see? Do you curse inwardly about what’s going on? These are automatisms we were taught starting as young children. We heard a lot of ‘put-downs’ and have made them into our own thoughts.
Our brain learns through repetition
The good thing is that we can change our pattern of thoughts using our brains. And… that is just a matter of practice! Very wonderful indeed! The more often you choose specific words, the more they circulate in your thoughts. What you direct your attention to grows. Just look at how you change when you’re expecting a child, or planning a wedding, or you’re getting ready to take a trip. The anticipation and the expectation of what is going to happen cause your thoughts to change in a positive way.
Find your key phrase
What issue are you struggling with at the moment? What’s the ‘theme’? Are you trying to keep everything under control? Are you trying to be perfect? Is it difficult for you to stick up for yourself? Are you afraid of lack of money? These are all issues that come and go. If you have resolved an issue, another issue will appear because that’s the way life is. There are always new challenges for you to help you grow!
The primal power of acceptance
Acceptance is one of the most powerful forms of energy there is. When you accept that things are not going as you would like them to, you relax and there is room for new insights. Accept that you find it difficult to make mistakes. Accept that you are alone. Accept that you are afraid of… whatever. Accept that it is cold and raining. Accept that there is little money in your bank account. And bring yourself into the calm you long for so much!
Make up a new password
In your daily life, you often have to enter a password. There are now a lot of automatic robots around trying to hack your password. The MIR-Method website, for example, is “attacked” about 500 times each day. Thankfully, they’re unsuccessful because we use extremely long passwords. They aren’t easy to break. And they’re fun as well because they remind us every day that what we go through is ok. Examples of some of our passwords (not the real ones, of course!)
It’sallrightI’mawkwardwithpeople
It’sokthatI’mnotperfect
Imaybewrong
It’sokthatitdoesn’tgoanyfaster
Sometimes this type of password is difficult to enter, because of all the letters, but it brings you back to a place where it really is ok that not everything goes the way you wish it would. This acceptance brings you calm and space, just as the ideal father or mother would accept you and reassures you when you mess up. “It’s okay, come, let me help you clean up.” And what would happen if you would say that password out loud 3 times and stroke, just as when you do the MIR-Method. Just try it!
Acceptance is a basic need
In step 7: Fulfill basic needs one of the basic needs is “Acceptance”. It is a need that every child longs to have fulfilled. To be allowed to be who you are. That it was ok when you didn’t do something well. That it was ok to not yet be able to do something. That you were allowed to learn things in an atmosphere of safety in which you felt completely accepted in your learning process. If you were often rejected as a child and got the feeling that there was something wrong about you, that you were not accepted, then fulfill the acceptance now with step 7 of the MIR-Method. So that you can completely and totally accept yourself now! Simply because you are unique and are worth it, you wonderful person!
And what is the password that you can think of or use on your computer? Let me know about it below so you can inspire others! Thank you!
Mind you, DO change some of the letters! 😉
I look forward to you being able to accept yourself as you are, with all of your lovely ‘flaws’.
Take care!
Greetings, Mireille Mettes

Ashok gosar
Dear Ashok,
I am so sorry to read you were a victim of online fraud. That must cause a lot of stress.
You can use the MIR-Method to relieve that stress, every day. And yes, just continue doing the 9 steps for as long as you need to.
Wishing you all the best!
Greetings, Mireille Mettes
KEY IS ME is the password
Do we add the password to the 9 steps or do it on its own ?
Many thanks for this process!!
Dear Sue,
No, you don’t need to add the password. The 9 steps will do.
Greetings and good luck!
Mireille Mettes
I came across The MIR Method today in an article featured in the happinez magazine. That led me to your website and I’ve been taking it all in – watching your video and reading the articles. I’m excited and looking forward to implement this for the next 4 weeks. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. We all need healing. As for my password, I would say: I release and let go of old limitations and beliefs.
Dear Tefany,
Thank you for taking an interest in the MIR-Method! I truly hope it will help you!
Greetings, Mireille Mettes
Hi Mireille! My password for the day is “IEmbraceAllMyCapabilities.” I’m tired of hiding who I am just because it might make someone else feel insecure if I let my light shine.
Dear Lisa,
Yahooooo, I love to hear that! You must know the poem of Marianne Williamson, I guess… She writes something like ‘If you let your light shine, you subconsciously allow others to do the same.’ Great!
Greetings, Mireille Mettes
Password Idea:
I am ready to accept the infinite gifts the Universe has in store for me
