137. Heal Your School Years
How much did you enjoy your school years? Were they fun? Were you in a nice class with a good teacher? Did the others notice you? Were you able to develop in the subjects you had an aptitude for? Did you feel like there was room to experiment? To make mistakes? Were you allowed to leave the class at times? Could you express yourself to your teacher and did he or she take you seriously? Do you look back on the time pleasurably? I hope so!
If school wasn’t so nice
When I still had my practice, I noticed that many of my clients had had an unpleasant time at school. They felt unacknowledged, unheard and not taken seriously. Is that just my clients or are there many more people who didn’t have an easy time during their school years? I think the latter. Kindergarten was ok. You were allowed to play and a lot was tolerated such as experimenting, making a mess, walking around and moving. Then 1st grade came. And then you had to sit still and learn to read, write and do sums. Maybe a lot has changed now but today’s adults experienced relatively strict school systems.
If you don’t want to go to school
As children, many of my clients didn’t want to go to school any more. They were school sick. “Mom, I’ve got a stomachache.” And then not once, but three times a week. How else can you make it clear to your parents that you don’t like being in school, or feel unsafe? Or make it clear to them that you have the feeling that you’re being judged by what you can’t do and are therefore inferior to the rest? Bad experiences in school are a source of any number of problems: sleeping problems, skin conditions, heart palpitations, relationship problems, loneliness, muscle conditions, a lack of self-worth, a burnout, etc. Heal the pain from your school time and you’re working hard to improve your health!
Children are our future
It is necessary to sweep changes in education: Schools haven’t satisfied the needs of today’s children for a long time. (…) What I really blame the education system for is that it undermines the natural disposition of children. Children who are born to dance miss many hours to do so while at school. Children who have a natural talent for painting, drawing and other forms of creativity, draw the shortest straw. Children who love language or Math, however, are well catered to. They feel appreciated, acknowledged and in their element at school. Or do they? How much can they do with their affinity for language? And, in what way? What’s the point of learning to dissect sentences anymore? I haven’t needed to use it at any point in my life, even though I write books. They are specific phenomena that I feel harm children more than help them. In my opinion, this is such a shame because children are our future. The future is changing now at lightning speed. I prefer seeing children grow up who can speak up for themselves, have confidence in themselves and that can practice the skills they possess, even learn six languages if that’s what they’d like to do. And most of all, that children retain their joy of learning and remain curious. That is the only way to keep up with a society that is changing so rapidly.
The MIR-Method and your school years
If you want to heal your school years, you can use the MIR-Method. With step 3: ‘Detach father. Detach mother.’ you disconnect the connection that you still have with the one teacher you still unpleasantly think back on. You take him or her out of your system so you can find peace about what happened to you back then.
With step 4: ‘Clear meridians’ you remove the emotions from your school years from your meridians. The sadness, the anger, the frustration, the fear, the embarrassment. All these emotions played a role during your school years and you remove them from your meridians, causing the many blockages to disappear.
With step 7: ‘Fulfill basic needs’ you strengthen your internal sense of security and self-confidence. Something that may not have been strengthened during your school years. You fulfill the Security and the Protection you would have like to have had and the Confidence in yourself and in what you are capable of. Your natural curiosity towards learning and experimenting reappear!
With step 8: ‘Optimize chakras and aura’ you remove old emotional pain from your chakras and aura. By doing this, you make it possible for them to heal themselves, past the situation that you went through while in school. You become more grounded (chakra 1), your willpower returns (chakra 3) and you become more confident in your own intuition (chakra 7). What you think or feel is correct!
Even though I only describe a few of the steps here, always do all 9!

My view of education, as an ex-teacher, is that education is a misnomer. It’s really a system of child-minding, that allows parents to work. The education that happens is pretty basic. With a ratio of one teacher to 25 or 30 children, nothing can really change. It’s the logistics. Schools have anything from 200 to 1000+ students. The children must be kept busy to avoid chaos, so a lot of the work they do is more is less for depth of learning and more to keep them distracted. What children need most is attention and connection, that’s what the system is least able to provide.
I resonate with the article, both adults and the children of today will need healing.
I remember a lot of shaming when I was in school. And being held up in front of the class when I did something “wrong”. It surely does carry into adulthood and I have very bad digestive problems today
Oh, how I resonate with this article! It always seemed so unnatural being confined to school-it was like incarceration! Out of all the teachers I had, there are only two who stood out as recognizing me in any special way. Most of the time I felt like a nobody!
I was always painfully shy and this carried over in my adult life. I suffer many emotional scars from my school years!
Lately, in the United States, a new system of education was adopted which was designed to make the U.S. “more competitive” with the rest of the world…Oh, how I feel for the poor children who are being used as pawns to boost the egos of the powers-that-be! I pray that soon children will be appreciated in all of their individuality and not forced into cookie-cutter molds!

Reminds me of the song of Grace van der Waal who recently won the America’s Got Talent show. She sang about how she didn’t want to be molded. And yes, school systems are based on just a few goals and seem to forget about all other matters that a child is: a person with dreams, feelings different personality and above all: a different pace in which it can develop. I am sorry for you that you had to go through such a horrific school period! Hope you can help youself heal it!
