101. The Consequences of Antibiotic Use
Fatigue, listlessness, overweight, fungal nails, foggy brain, depression, vaginal infections. They can all be the result of something in your intestines. It can even cause skin conditions such as psoriasis. Slowly but surely, more is known about the way the intestines work. Problems with your skin? Improve the condition of your intestines! Read, for example, article 84: “Itching, Eczema and Your Intestines”.
The consequences of using antibiotics
Candida is a type of yeast that belongs in your body. But if this yeast reproduces too much, your intestinal bacteria become unbalanced and “bad” bacteria gain the upper hand. You can have symptoms such as flatulence, weight gain or even joint pain. How does Candida get the chance to grow like this? One of the causes is the use of antibiotics. They ensure that bacteria die, but the good bacteria that keep Candida under control, die as well.
Weakening of your immune system
You are prescribed antibiotics because you are ill and your own immune system can’t take care of the illness. Your immune system was already weakened. Antibiotics kill bacteria, the good ones as well as the bad ones. You quickly get better, which makes you happy. But… in the meantime, Candida is multiplying inside your body. The result is that, on the long term, your intestinal flora worsens, which further weakens your immune system. Candida gets the upper hand, with harmful consequences.
How do you know if you suffer from too much Candida?
It is always good to check your own body. If you have a Candida infection, you can have such symptoms as “runny” bowel movements. The poop isn’t solid but is mushy and clings to the pot. This poop usually smells badly. In addition, such symptoms as flatulence, fatigue and depression occur. It can also cause vaginal infections in women.
Do you crave sugars?
Something else that is noticeable is the desire for sweets. That can be because you are sad but can also be caused by Candida. It needs sugar to survive. If you have a lot of Candida bacteria, your longing for sugar increases! You start eating more and more sugar!
Do the Candida mini-test
When you wake up in the morning, the first thing you do is to spit in a glass of water. If the saliva in the water appears as white threads, it is Candida. It’s a good idea to read more about it and take measures to do something about it.
What can you do about it yourself?
You can do a lot about it. The MIR-Method is already helping you strengthen your feeling of self-worth, which means that you will continually take better care of yourself. You create more relaxation and happiness in your life, which is good for your immune system.
In addition, your immune system continually becomes stronger by doing the 9 steps. Each step cooperates with this strengthening! You have more need for good nutrition, also thanks to step 5: ‘Supplement all shortages’.
What you can do right now is look at how much sugar you eat during a day. Sugar is the food source for the Candida yeast. If you decrease the amount of sugar you eat, the yeast can’t survive and disappears from your body in large numbers. Special Candida diets have been developed for this.
Review your own lifestyle
How much sugar do you eat each day? Or should I ask: how much do you drink each day? The largest consumption of sugar turns out to come from drinking it, through sport drinks, soft drinks but also through fruit juices! We pour large amounts of sugar into our bodies unnoticed, and our intestines have to deal with it. And the Candida yeast? It’s feasting on it!
Do you still eat yoghurt? It’s one of the best ways to supplement the good bacteria after a course of antibiotics. It ensures the slow restoration of the bacteria balance in your intestines. If you are already doing the MIR-Method, it’s possible you already desire more yoghurt or quark!
And how about you? Have you already noticed improvement in your bowel movements through the MIR-Method? Do you have less desire for sugar and more for yoghurt? I’d love to hear about it from you! Tell me about it below. Thanks!
By using the “End” key on your keyboard you can go straight to the form. Personal questions should always be asked of a MIR-Method coach!
My wish for you is that your desire for sugar decreases and that your skin glows!
Sincerely,
Mireille Mettes

I drink Bio Live Revive from the Microbz people. Makes a big difference to my psoriasis
I’m practicing MIR method from last few days and suddenly I started reducing my sugar intake and add more salt in my food now after reading this I know why this is happening.
Grateful to u for this wonderful method.
How funny your article popped up now that I am suffering from candida after the use of antibiotics. A good way to avoid candida is to supply your body by taking the good bacteria DURING the antibiotics therapy (which i did’nt do this time) and continue that after you’r finnished with the antibiotic. I don’t know which products are available in your country, but I take “omnibiotic” for that.
Dear Meri,
Thank you for mentioning that type of antibiotics. In what country is that antibiotics available?
Greetings, Mireille Mettes
Dear Mireille!
My son started the MIR-Method last year.He did it for a month for emotional issues. Then he refused to do it longer cause he feels emberrassing while doing it .I dont know why…Do you think will it help anyway? Why does he feel this way?
Annie
Dear Annie,
Usually children only need to do it for four weeks. Most of the time the parents need to do the MIR-Method. A young person can start to feel embarrassed as a sign that he feels it’s no longer necessary and feels awkward doing it. Just let him be and concentrate on your own healing.
Good luck!
Greetings, Mireille Mettes
I tell many people here in the USA about being careful of taking antibiotics but many people still don’t understand…..I did not know about the spitting test…..thanks
Dear Trent,
You’re welcome! Yes, it is generally assumed that antibiotics are great! You can also tell them about the song of Alanis Morissette: ‘Thank you’. The first line of the song is: ‘How about getting off of these antibiotics?’ Maybe people will want to listen to her? 😉
Greetings! Mireille Mettes
Thanks for the information on Candida yeast. I will spit in a glass of water tomorrow and observe. I am having frequent bowel movements. I have stopped drinking green drinks for breakfast it is causing very loose stools through out the day.
Dear Donald,
Yes, I guess the green drinks don’t have so much fiber in it, causing losse stools. Am glad you listened and/or observed your body! Good luck with the Candida inspection!
Greetings, Mireille Mettes
Be aware the candida spit test is highly unreliable, its is a measure of mucus viscosity at best, its far better to look into stool testing for candida, or even better a <a href="” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>https://www.candidacurecenter.com/candida-explained/testing-for-candida/"candida antibodies blood test
Dear Clare,
Thank you for correcting me and for adding the correct candida test! Could you please send me the correct link?
Greetings, Mireille Mettes
Everything you wrote in the article about candida and antibiotics is what I believed and had learned about the subjects since I’ve been a colonic therapist. Then I watched a video at http://www.candidacleanser.com, which changed what I believed considerably. I thought my own Candida issues weren’t affecting me, but after watching the video, I feel there are probably still some overgrowth challenges I need to deal with. I have only one of the chronic problems mentioned in the video and feel if my infestation were worse, I’d have more of them. I am going to tackle the Candida more aggressively now, armed with the info I got from the website’s video.
