84. The 3 Obstacles to Realizing Your Dreams
Dreams are very important for people. They provide perspective. They give you something to live for. Dreams are expressions of your inner being, of the longings deep within your soul. This can be at a deeply spiritual level but also purely material. What is your dream house? What kind of car would you like? What things are most important to you? If you don’t do anything with your dreams, you’re missing out on a bit of the zest for life!
Are dreams illusions?
If you’ve got dreams, but don’t do anything about them, they will never become reality. Then dreams are illusions, false images of something you will never become a part of. But even more than that, you become a little numb. You give up. You give up on yourself. “It’ll never happen,” is maybe the saddest thing you can say to yourself, because your innermost being is in need of it!
What is the first large obstacle for dreams?
Money is the first obstacle people face when making their dreams come true. Read my article about money, “Do You Have a Chronic Shortage of Money? . “No, I would like to, but I don’t have the money for it.” I’m familiar with this. I postponed fulfilling my long cherished dreams because I thought there wasn’t any money for them. Vacation? No money for it. Until I was able to stay in a German house with my family. A cello? No way, way too expensive! Until I suddenly was able to borrow a cello from an acquaintance in my neighborhood. And then a car, a Citroën DS21, a “Snoek”. I thought they were really beautiful! But…to have one, no. What I discovered is that I love just looking at this car! I especially admire these cars for their design, their elegance! In the photo accompanying this article you see me standing next to one of these. I like this picture! And that’s enough for me. I always thought I wanted to have one of them myself, but after doing some research I realized that just like to see them! I even make drawings of them now. Researched dream! Realized! Done! And it didn’t cost anything! Next dream!
What is the second largest obstacle for dreams?
The second obstacle to dreams is that you suppress them. Because it’s not possible (“I am just not strong enough”) or because you let your chance slip away (“It’s no longer possible anymore”). Because you’re too old (“That’s much too dangerous at my age”). Because you let someone talk you out of it (“It’ll never work”). If I were to ask you, “What would you still like to accomplish with your life?”, do you have an answer? Or are your dreams hidden away?
What is the third largest obstacle for dreams?
The third large obstacle is that you don’t examine your dreams. You don’t think about what you’d like and stop thinking about it. Maybe you are fascinated by theater and costumes or are crazy about flowers or trains. Expose yourself to aspects of this world and awaken your old love! Imagine you love space travel. You may not become an astronaut anymore but how wonderful is it to read books about aeronautics, visit a space museum or attend the lecture of a former astronaut? By placing yourself closer to this world, your fascination and feelings of happiness reawaken. You come closer to your dream again. And you know what? Maybe you’ll discover that your dream isn’t becoming an astronaut but just engaging yourself with everything it involves. This is the world that fascinates you, engages you and sets something deep inside of you on fire!
What does the MIR-Method do with dreams?
It is a strange phenomenon but by doing the MIR-Method, it very slowly becomes clear what makes your heart beat faster. Because a lot of “hassles” disappear into the background, it becomes ever clearer what is important to you! You are able to discern the essentials from the side issues again. Your dreams and desires become visible and tangible again!
Step 1: ‘Optimize acidity’ and step 2: ‘Detox all toxicity’ enable you to think clearly. You can focus better and notice that you are less easily distracted.
Step 3: ‘Detach father. Detach mother’ is important for rediscovering your dreams, especially if your father, mother or partner is the greatest obstacle for you in carrying out your dream. By detaching yourself from them, your old love will resurface again.
Step 4: ‘Clear meridians’ involves an interesting meridian, the circulation meridian. When this one starts flowing again, apathy disappears, you regain your love for life, you dare to feel how much you’d like something and you can enjoy things again!
Step 5: ‘Supplement all shortages’. With step 5 you give your subconscious the assignment to supplement all nutritional shortages, which will improve your energy and ability to think. Through renewed energy and resilience, it becomes easier to dust off old wishes and dreams and to pick them up again.
What do you think happens to your hormone system when you begin to do something with what you are passionate about? With step 6: ‘Balance hormone system’, you support this.
With step 7: ‘Fulfill basic needs’, you increase the amount of courage you have. You dare to do more and more. And you need this courage and that boldness to bring your old dreams to the forefront. Straight through your own embarrassment, right though your own obstacles. If you love model trains, then you love model trains!
Step 8: ‘Optimize chakras and aura’. This step has an important chakra, the chakra that is between your eyes in your forehead. This enables you to visualize clearly, to imagine what it would be like to pursue your dream. You can create pictures in your mind again and remember how much you used to like doing your dream. And by visualizing it, what you would like to do becomes ever clearer!
Step 9: ‘Clarify mission’. Is it possible that your real mission involves your most deeply cherished dream? Who knows! Maybe your whole subconscious is moving you in that direction!
Which dream of mine will become reality this year?
One of my greatest dreams is to be able to fly. It’s a childhood dream and it just keeps returning. This spring, I’m going to experience a part of that on my birthday. I’m going to go in a hot air balloon! I’ve already started saving for it. This year, I’m going flying!
And how about you? What is your boldest dream? Are you imagining it? Has the MIR-Method given you the courage to become engaged with it? I’d love to hear about it! Let me know about it below! Thank you!
By using the “End” key on your keyboard you can go straight to the form. Personal questions should always be asked of a MIR-Method coach!
My wish for you is that you have dreams to realize!
Good luck!

Dear Mireille,
Thank you so much for creating the MIR Method and making the effort to get it out to the world. A friend of mine introduced me to it, and I have found it helpful.
I am 64 years old and have wanted to write songs and sing and teach on stage all my life, but have felt very blocked. I have been doing the MIR Method for 4 weeks now and feel freed up somehow. I just bought a program that will help me become a speaker/singer and get my message out to the world. It feels possible for me now!
Many blessings to you!
Elena
Dear Elena,
